When I began this new venture in March of 2008, I had just given up what I had thought was my dream, my beautiful Antique and gift shop, Shore Chic, in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. There, I had been able to do what I had always loved, scour flea markets and auctions for antique treasures to take home and spruce up to give them a new life, shop for the latest new gift items and "beachy" home decor to decorate my shop with, and meet wonderful new friends who I would come to know and love and share in their everyday lives. After 4 long wonderful years and with much sadness, the time had come to close my doors. I took a year off, while pondering what would come next. Then, early last year, after attending a number of bridal shows in the area with my niece who had recently gotten engaged, I began to notice a new trend emerging...beach themed weddings! Since I had incorporated the beach theme into my antique and gift shop and had spent my life planning numerous parties and events for my large family and friends, I thought this would be the perfect new way for me to continue to do what I love, number one, shop....... bring new ideas to life and of course, include my love of the Jersey Shore and the history of our wonderful beaches into this new venture as well. The only difference would be that this would be a website, not a brick and morter store. There would be no people to meet, no shelves to stock, no long hours, etc....(or so I thought! :)......so with much anticipation, Shore Chic Beach Theme Bridal was born...
I really did not know what to expect at first. We put up our website with a few of the products we had found available on the market for beach theme weddings and slowly started adding some of our own creations. Eventually, the ideas started to flow, our product line grew and before we knew it, the phone started ringing and we were off......It was exciting to hear all of the compliments from the numerous brides to be who called to order, or to simply ask questions and get ideas for their upcoming ocean side weddings. They loved our website and our new ideas, and I then realized how important this job of mine would be, after all, I was helping to plan the one of the most important days of these girls lives and I wanted to make it as special and beautiful and unique as each one of them were. I spoke with some of them for months before their big day, and I came to know them personally and learned of their dreams and tried to help to bring them to fruition. I've talked to their Moms and Maids of honors, as we collaborated to get all of the details just right. I then waited for their day to finally arrive and I thought of what they may be thinking that morning and hoped that they had sunshine wherever they may be. The best part was, that they remembered me as well! The thank you letters and photographs began to come. My hard work was paying off...their dreams had come true and I had made some new friends along the way. So, I've decided to start this new page, Shore Chic Brides, so I could share with you these Beautiful Brides (and their new Husbands!) and their beautiful weddings. You may get a few ideas for your own along the way. You can see some of our products being used at actual weddings and perhaps get inspired, as I am, to bring a bit of the beach into your everyday life as well.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you HOW BEUATIFUL your CHOCOLATE SHELLS in the bags looked on the table...I have these two photos to share with you...Not the best. I'm HOPING other pixs will surface so I can pass them on to you..
The center of each table had these TALL CANDLE holders with White candles placed on top...There was Sea Glass spinkled around the candle and center of each table. With HUGE SILVER SHELLS....Your Chocolate Sea Shell for everyone finalized each table.
They looked BEAUTIFUL!

How are you? The website looks fabulous!!! I'm so honored to be a part of it! Did you like the pictures?? One of my favorites is at the ceremony of the fans on the seats! I'll have to send you a picture of all of our decorations and such that we saved to decorate our new loft! Thank you so much! Everything turned out absolutely beautiful! You were so helpful with ideas, keeping your eye out for things we were looking for and being so flexible! I'm so thankful to have found you! OH!!! Guess what - we didn't save the top layer of the cake due to having to drive back to Texas, but we did save the big scalloped chocolate shell you made for us for our first anniversary! This letter is in appreciation for all of your help, support, custom made items, creative beach themes and excellent follow through and delivery for the wedding of Lindsay Cross and Thomas Lerou... As a wedding coordinator with clients with the highest expectations you and your company were the perfect fit!
We ordered wedding ceremony programs, escort cards attached to starfish (so beautifully done!), menus adn table name cards. All weredone perfectly, were custom made and personalized, and helped carry our seaside theme throughout the event. these were all details that were commented on and noticed by our guests. Each item had the impeccable construction and attention to detail for which your company should be very proud.
The flower girl baskets were lovely! Whit the real starfish and other shells, again helping to creat our look and theme, they were a perfect fit. The dark pink petals were so beautiful in them. The white washed shell box also was just perfect for the starfish, leaving just the right amount of room for sand, and it's an item I will be able to reuse again and again.
Maureen, you were a pleasure to partner with always offering creative ideas and solutions. Your follow through and delivery of promises were unparalleled. I would heartily recommend you to any wedding or event planner for your products and services, and send a hearfelt and warm thank you for all of your efforts.

Like any typical bride, there I was searching in google for my beach themed wedding accessories and a number of horrible websites came up - that is until I stumbled upon "Shorechic" on a Friday afternoon, and I knew the questions of my critical details of my wedding had been answered! I picked up the phone and called Maureen (how cool is that by the way that you can actually talk to the owner herself!) and told her what I was looking for and she immediately starting hunting for the lanterns I had described. Well, to say she found the lanterns would be an understatement. After collaborating on ideas over a 3-4 month period, and what would work best, Maureen had me completely set up. I went with the Starfish theme - tags, table names, place cards, wine stoppers with personalized tags, large lanterns for centerpieces, small individual lanterns for the head table, and flower girl basket. Maureen made suggestion where appropriate, offered up examples, proofs if needed, and always, always a returned phone call or email right away. It all came together beautifully!
I think the "wow" factor for me came when I received my final package of goodies. It was 4 days before the wedding and it was such an exciting time for both of our families as we had gathered at the beach in Carmel. I was feeling great, emotional, but zero stress. My box arrived on time just as Maureen promised - I opened it up to find everything perfectly done and wrapped in tissue along with a personal note. Every single starfish, tag, place card and more arrived flawlessly. Everything was done with such care and love. You can just tell that Maureen loves what she does and weather she knows it or not, she is a guest at every wedding she tends to.
Thanks Maureen for making my day the perfect day it was. Yes, you were there with us not only on our wedding day, but every step of the way.

All the compliments were well deserved! I know how hard you guys work and how busy you are so making time for my wedding and my needs was so nice and refreshing! I had no worries with you or Danny throughout the whole process and thats tough to say with vendors! Once I get the negatives from the photographer I will send you copies of the one with your work in them. It will be great to put on your website. Ok so here is my review below:
Working with Maureen and Danny on my wedding was such a great experience! Their work is nothing short of perfect. They even designed a special program just for my husband and I and it was amazing! They also did our starfish escort cards and everything advertized on their website was even better in person. After learning how great they were to work with I had them do our table cards which with Danny's help we both designed and we got so many compliments on how personal they were. We also had them do our favors which were the bags of chocolate. I have to say they were so cute and the chocolate was out of this world good! I think what touch me and my husband the most is that we had a last minute cancellation of a guest that impacted a huge part of our wedding and I called Maureen to see if she could fix our programs and some of the escort cards. She calmed me down and told me no problem. It was exactly what I needed at that moment and was so happy when I got the new programs and cards as everything was perfect! Shorechic definitely made my wedding the fairytale I have always dreamed about!!!

Everything arrived on time, it was great, everyone loved the starfishes!! Here are some pictures my cousin took of the reception hall before everyone got there, unfortunately he didn't add any of Joe and I , if you look closely the center piece has a blue Betta fish in them. The day was awesome, the weather was great, I had a belly dancer and 5 Aboriginal dancers and everyone one was talking about it for weeks! I will send you more tonight of Joe and I from my home email or if you have a facebook account you can add me and look at my pictures. If I could do it all over again I would in the exact same way. Thank you again for your help, I loved them!
